Reading is one of the four key skills in English (along with writing, speaking and listening). But it’s not just understanding the words on the page. We read different texts in different ways: for example, we read a story in a different way from a recipe. To read effectively, you need to focus on the kind of text you are reading (novel, website, advertisement, poem...) and you need to know the best technique for reading it.
Active Reading will teach you all these techniques (skimming, scanning, prediction, and 13 more). It does this through 60 topics that are always lively and interesting: for example, ecotourism, buried treasure and wireless gaming.
